I’m Mike McNeil, Doctor of Physical Therapy and founder of Pursuit Physical Therapy. I provide in-home physical therapy and fitness coaching for active adults and athletes throughout Greater Philadelphia.
I started Pursuit because I believe the standard model of healthcare is unable to deliver the higher level of care that some people need. Physical therapy should do more than temporarily reduce their symptoms — it should empower people to manage their health and fitness independently over the long-term.
In my free time, I enjoy trail running in the Wissahickon, biking along the Schuylkill Trail and Kelly Drive, cross training, weightlifting, surfing at the Jersey shore, and playing/rooting for local team sports.
Clinical experiences:
Sports and orthopedic rehabilitation
Post-surgical recovery
Chronic pain management
Neurological rehabilitation
I continue to pursue ongoing education to stay current with evidence-based practices while integrating real-world application into every plan. I also have additional training specific to:
McKenzie Method for management of low back and neck disorderrs
LSVT BIG certification for management of Parkinson’s disease and neurological disorders.
Advanced Vestibular Training for management of vertigo, concussion, dizziness, and balance impairments
Physical therapy isn’t just about fixing an injury. It’s about understanding how your body moves, how your lifestyle supports (or limits) that movement, and how to build habits that create long-term resilience.
My approach emphasizes:
People over profits
Progress over perfection
Education over dependency
Capabilities over disabilities
Long-term results over temporary fixes
Rather than focusing on diagnoses or deficits, I work with each client to identify their strengths, assess their starting point, clarify their goals, and collaboratively develop a plan to make meaningful progress toward those goals.
Most practices focus on maximizing the time you spend inside the clinic.
I focus on what happens outside of it.
Real progress doesn’t come from one or two hours per week — it comes from how you move, train, recover, and live the other 166 hours. My goal is to optimize your daily routine, help you achieve meaningful short-term wins, and build sustainable habits that support your long-term pursuit of health and performance.
Traditional physical therapy often takes place in busy clinics with time constraints and standardized programs. While that model works for many, it doesn’t always translate seamlessly into real life.
By working directly in your home, office, gym, or community, I’m able to design care around:
Your plan should fit into your schedule — not disrupt it.
I build habits and routines that are realistic and repeatable, ensuring that progress continues long after our sessions end. Instead of adjusting your lifestyle to create new habits, seamlessly integrating the two increases the likelihood that those habits will be sustainable.
The way we perform in a clinic isn’t always the way we move in the real world.
In-home care allows us to assess and improve movement patterns in the exact environments where they matter most.
If your plan and your rehab is dependent on the space and equipment available in the clinic, how long can we expect results to last? By designing a routine based on your environment, the results can last for as long as you maintain the healthy habits that brought them about.
Pursuit Physical Therapy offers mobile treatment and training delivered to your home and local community. During each session, your physical therapist brings a treatment table and any equipment necessary to complete a comprehensive exercise-based intervention program. To supplement the sessions, the therapist also brings weights, resistance bands, sporting equipment, and a variety of tools for agility, balance, strength, and mobility training. Programs are developed based on the equipment and space available in your home, to ensure that each plan is replicable outside of scheduled appointments.
Most practices focus on making the most of the time you spend in the gym or office. At Pursuit Physical Thearpy, the focus is on the time you don’t spend with your phyislca therapist. As a mobile provider, I see you operate in the real world. Together, we develop goals and build a plan that helps shape your lifestyle to achieve those goals, based on the resources you have readily available.
